Laminate flooring is a popular alternative to solid wood flooring, introduced to the UK in 1977. With the appearance of wood, it is not made of timber or wood veneers, though it can be manufactured to look like it. In fact, laminate flooring can be made to have the appearance of nearly anything, depending on your own preferences. Laminate flooring is comprised of four different layers, fused together under high pressure to create a beautiful floor which is resistant to scratches, fading, stains and wear from heavy foot traffic, is easy to clean and maintain and can be bought at a more affordable price compared to a real wood floor.
